GLOSSARY

Aura: An invisible energy field that surrounds living creatures, extending about 6 feet in every direction. Its frequency, or how it communicates who we are to others, governs the way we impact or connect with others.

Authority: One of the tools for living and making decisions.

Inner (personal) Authority: The source of inner guidance for making decisions as oneself; one’s own personal GPS

Outer Authority: The proper realm of the mind, liberated from decision making and able to use gifts in service to others.

Awareness: A point of transformation/awakening when one becomes an objective observer of one’s life.

Body Graph or Rave Body Graph with Centers: A series of 9 Centers with numbered Gates that can potentially be connected to opposing Gates in different Centers through celestial movements. Each person has unique definition in their own charts based on their time of birth. These imprints define the mechanics of a person’s unique Design and reveals deep truths about them.

Chakras: The 9 Centers in a Human Design chart, and mutated expansion of the 7 Centers, that relates to the energy body and physical body.

Channel: A quantum created by the joining of two gates from one Center to a nearby Center. Pathways that carry or link and transform energy between the 9 Centers of the Body Graph.

Chart (Body Graph): The blueprint for our energy, how it functions within you, and how it interacts with the energy of others. The main tool for Human Design analysis.

Conditioning: Pressure, expectations, or influences from outside sources that are used by the mind to conform to patterns tat are not part of who we are (aka, not-self); adaptive strategies which becomes habits and take us away from or repress or conceal our true Self and purpose for incarnating.

Conscious: All of the Personality data, in black on the Body Graph, that we experience, are aware of, and identify with.

Cycles: There are four that are a key measurable transition point in life. The point itself is the midpoint in a 7-year cycle that represents a transition process that is traveled through, with Cycle Return Readings providing signposts for life’s journey. In addition, we also go through a yearly cycle known as our Solar Return.

Solar Return: A weather forecast for what we will be experiencing in the year ahead in terms of our education, development, and personal connections.

Saturn Return: Explores the mechanics and patterns revealed in the Body Graph between the ages of 28 to 32 years and gives us signposts to our evolving maturing. It also occurs between the ages of 58 to 62. It can but rarely does repeat for a third time if we live into our late 80’s and 90’s.

Uranus Opposition: Explores the mechanics and patterns revealed in the Body Graph, showing the shift from the direction and environment of the first forty ears of our lives, to the new direction and environment for the second half of our lives. This occurs between ages 38 to 40 years, aka, midlife.

Kiron Return: Explores the mechanics and patterns revealed in the Body Graph for the final flowering of our purpose in life, starting between ages of 48 to 52 years.

Duality: The universe and everything it contains is dualistic in nature. Humans, through their genetic structure (DNA/RNA) are also designed as dualistic bio systems. In physics, the universe began as a duality with its expansion through Quarks and Leptons. This is our up-down, in-out, right-wrong reality. In Human Design, the duality is reflected through the two sets of data (Personality and Design) which determine the uniqueness of an individual in the Body Graph.

Generator: One of the four Types. Generators have a defined Sacral Center and provide life force energy for the planet and are tireless worker bees. They make up over 70% of the population. (See the LYD Lifemap Library for a more detailed description.)

I’Ching: A system of ancient Chinese wisdom that divines and interprets the changes we experience as we move through life; dating from 3-2000 BCE.

Individuality: A - When used to define a person’s mechanics, individuality is a quality associated with the channels and gates of the Individual Circuit; the energy of mutation, melancholy, empowerment and uniqueness that ensures the ongoing survival of the Tribe. B - When used as a general term, the unique qualities of every person’s Design.

Kabbalah or Cabala: Tree of Life, from Jewish mysticism; one of the four parts of the synthesis representing the circuitry in the Body Graph

Lunar Cycle: The Moon’s 28-day orbit around the Earth. Reflector’s use this 28-day Cycle as their personal Authority in their decision making process.

Manifestor: One of the four Types. Manifestors do not have a defined Sacral Center but have a powerful, and often lasting, impact on others. They are designed to be initiators in life. net. They make up over 9% of the population. (See the LYD Lifemap Library for a more detailed description.)

Manifesting Generator: A Generator with manifesting capabilities; Buddha Warrior who operates (makes decisions) through response but then moves into action quickly. This is not a separate Type. An MG (Manifesting Generator) is not a Manifestor who can initiate. Any initiating act based on mental decisions, more often than not, leads to dysfunction, frustration, pain, and regret. Every Generator needs to wait for the correct response before taking any action. (Visit the What’s My Type? Page under “Generator” for a more detailed description.)
